Voice of the Customer is a valuable tool in Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM to gain insight into your customer data with relevant feedback right from the mouth of your customer.

To create surveys in Voice of the Customer in Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM, you will navigate to the Designer.

Before you get started, remember to fill in your pertinent information, and save your survey along the way. You will change your form to survey via the Designer.

That in mind, once you’re in Dynamics, navigate to your drop-down menu, then click Voice of the Customer and Surveys.

Click on “Create a New Survey” and begin to build. You will start by filling out your pertinent information, as we described above. A lot of information will be filled in already.

You can opt to “Restrict Multiple Completions”, meaning survey-takers will only be able to fill out the survey once, collect “Anonymous Responses” to give survey-takers a privacy option or allow respondents who aren’t currently in your CRM to take the survey, use a “Captcha” to prevent bots and SPAM, enable “Social Sharing” to let survey-takers share the survey across the Web and encourage their friends to take it, and allow “Unsubscribe”, which indicates the ability to unsubscribe from survey alerts.

These options are pertinent to your business.

You can also choose your “Survey Runtime”, which means you can set an expiration date on your survey. You can also add a theme, logo, progress bar, and select other appearance options to personalize your survey for branding purposes.

These are not required fields but are worth considering. The default theme is not the most visually pleasing option, so we encourage you to brand your surveys.

When the survey is complete, you can determine what the text box will say in the end.

So, for example, you may say, “Thank you for taking our survey! As thanks, we want to offer you 5% off your next consultation.” You don’t have to incentivize your surveys, but that tends to increase the likelihood you will acquire more survey-takers.

You can also link survey-takers right back to your website once you’re done. You even have the option to add invitations and actions.

When you save the Survey, you’re ready to move on to “Designer”, which you can navigate to by going to the small drop-down “Survey” button you will see at the top left-hand corner of your screen.
