How to Troubleshoot Your Browser and Assist Your Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM Users with the Initial Setup

In this blog post, we walk you through specific settings you can set to ensure you and your Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM users have an optimal experience with browsing and using CRM.

If you need a quick reminder about how to clear your browsing history, we’ll start with that to be sure you get going with a clean slate.

These settings, below, are both for troubleshooting and the initial setups all users should do when they are first introduced to their organization’s CRM systems.

These settings and steps are personal options on a user’s actual PC.


Google Chrome

Use these steps to clear your cache in Google Chrome:

  1. Click on the 3 dots in the upper left-hand corner of your screen
  2. Click on “Settings”
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your screen and click “Advanced Options”
  4. Scroll to the bottom of your screen and click “Clear Browsing Data”
  5. Change the “From Past Hour” to “the Beginning of Time”
  6. Check all boxes except the last box
  7. Clear Browsing Data

Internet Explorer

Use these steps to clear your cache in Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on the gear in the upper right-hand corner of your screen
  2. Click on “Internet Options”

  3. In Internet Options
    1. Navigate to the General Tab
    2. Click on Delete
    3. Check all Boxes (you can uncheck the last box if desired)
    4. Click Delete

Use these steps to personalize your Browser Settings for Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer.

Within the steps, you will also find a few more relevant Option Settings you can apply to your Internet Explorer Browser:

  1. Navigate to the Security Tab
  2. Click on Trusted Sites
  3. Click on Sites
  4. Ensure the following are listed:
    1. *.accesscontrol.windows.net
    2. *dynamics.com
    3. *.microsoft.com
    4. *microsoftonline.com
  5. If not listed, please add them
    1. First, uncheck the box below

  6. Click Close
  7. Click on Custom Level

  8. Click on “Reset to: Set to Low”

  9. Click Reset
  10. Click Yes

  11. In the upper box, scroll to the bottom, then scroll up until you see:

  12. Where it states “Websites in less privileged web content zone can …”, set to Enable
  13. Click OK
  14. Click Yes
  15. Navigate to the Privacy Tab
  16. Click on Settings next to pop-up blocker
  17. Add:
    1. *.dynamics.com
    2. *.microsoft.com
  18. Click Close
  19. Click on Advanced Tab
  20. Click on “Restore Advanced Settings”
  21. Click Apply7
  22. Click OK
