Dynamics 365 V 8.2 vs. 9.0

Have you ever wondered how your phone camera integrates with the Dynamics 365 (D365) Mobile App in 8.2 vs. 9.0?

There are a few substantial and exciting changes as of the latest update from Microsoft.

Here’s what you should know:

Version 8.2

  • You can add a note, and then take a picture with your camera, and that picture will be an attachment on the note.
  • You can click on the Contact Image for a contact, and take a picture, and upload that image as the Contact’s image.

The capabilities are extended with V9.

Version 9.0

  • You can add a note, and then take a picture with your camera, and that picture will be an attachment on the note.
  • You can add a note, and then take a video recording with your camera, and that recording will be an attachment on the note.
  • You can add a note, and then take a voice recording with your phone, and that recording can be trimmed and will be an attachment on the note.*
    • *You must navigate to Settings in the App, Click on Mobile Settings, and then turn on the User Content and Location Setting to activate this. There will be a Privacy Notice.
  • You can click on the Contact Image for a Contact, and take a picture, and upload that image as the Contact’s Image.

A major benefit of the V9 release is that the CRM environment has continued to become more mobile-compatible, making it more user-friendly from an admin’s and user’s perspective.

Being able to use the system on the go has become more accessible and effective.

As a reminder, Microsoft reports you can use the Dynamics 365 for phones and Dynamics 365 for tablets apps for your sales, customer service, field service, and other tasks when you’re on the go.

All it takes is a simple download from the app store, and you will have access to all that you need in your role! New apps will appear with the new Unified Interface on your mobile device.
